Plaster, felt, and dental model.

This sculpture combines and explores two characteristics that fascinate me in sculpture and aesthetics. I appreciate the surreal, the absurd, and the grotesque. I combine a large felt tongue—barely fitting inside a plaster mouth—with a dental model that is almost entirely yellowed. I require the element of surprise inherent in three-dimensional forms. Depending on the viewing angle, only the white plaster is visible.
Essa escultura combina e explora duas características que me encantam em escultura e em estética. Eu aprecio o surreal, absurdo e grotesto. Combino uma língua grande de feutro, mal cabendo em uma boca de gesso, com um modelo odontológico quase todo amarelado. Eu preciso do elemento de surpresa inerente a formas de três dimensões. Dependendo do ângulo em que a escultura é vista, somente o gesso branco é aparente.
